Robert Street Bridge Construction Update Week #3

Last week removal of the east and west parapet was completed on the Robert Street Bridge. Excavation at the north abutment started Friday.

Motorists traveling through the Riverside Drive and Robert Street intersection should stay alert and watch for dump trucks exiting the site hauling the old pavement away.

This week removal of the main bridge deck will begin at the north end and progress to the south. This removal operation will move at a measured/deliberate pace with barges in a set location for long periods of time. Boat traffic should be alert while passing under the bridge and steer clear of the barge and equipment. Roadway traffic patterns will remain as currently set for multiple weeks.
