Fort Atkinson Local Government Academy

Open to all City of Fort Atkinson residents of voting age, the Fort Atkinson Local Government Academy provides a hands-on opportunity for residents to learn more about City operations and services, widen community relationships, develop leadership skills and identify opportunities to apply leadership skills in the community and with City government. 

The Fort Atkinson Local Government Academy will meet July 25, August 8, August 22, August 29 and September 12, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There is no cost to participate but potential candidates for the Academy must be a City of Fort Atkinson residents. 

Purpose:

A major goal for both the University of Wisconsin Extension and the City of Fort Atkinson is to increase civic engagement and opportunities for residents to learn about community services and ways to participate and engage in the decision-making processes. The Fort Atkinson Local Government Academy provides a hands-on opportunity to strengthen community relationships, learn more about community challenges and opportunities, help advocate for important topics and enhance the City’s communication efforts.
