The Fort Atkinson Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated release of its Fall/Winter Guide, packed with an array of engaging programs and activities suitable for all ages. The guide will be released for viewing on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, coinciding with the commencement of program registration.

The Fall/Winter Guide showcases an extensive selection of both established favorites and exciting new offerings. Sports enthusiasts will find a range of options including basketball leagues, soccer, and volleyball skills courses, as well as the beloved start smart sports program tailored for ages 3-7 alongside a guardian. The dance program, karate classes for all age groups, and a multitude of enrichment opportunities will captivate participants eager to explore their passions.

Adults are cordially invited to unwind and relive their youth at the upcoming "Adult Recess" event on Friday, Sept. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jones Park, an evening of leisure and enjoyment (free of charge!). The Generals will have affordable food and beverages available for purchase. For those seeking a creative outlet, an enchanting paint and sip experience themed "Let it Snow!" awaits at Mr. Brews.

Families are also in for a treat with the "World of Wheels" event on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ralph Park, a fantastic opportunity for quality bonding time (free family event!).

The department is thrilled to bring back cherished community events, including the captivating "Deck the House" holiday light competition complemented by a bus tour of Fort Atkinson's radiant lights. Adrenaline junkies can anticipate the return of the exhilarating "Skate Park Scare" at the wheels park, while holiday enthusiasts will delight in the festivities of "Jingling the Clauses" and "Stuff n' Fluff," among other engaging options.

The Fall/Winter Guide introduces a range of new programs designed to capture the imagination of participants. From "Nerf Dart Battle" tailored for ages 7-12 to the artistic journey of "Mini Picassos" for ages 2-6, and the energetic "Mini Movers" program for ages 0-5, there's something for everyone. Adults can look forward to drop-in "Adult Dodgeball" and "Adult Kickball" sessions, ensuring they have a blast while staying active.

The Senior Center is bustling with an array of cherished activities such as bingo, Wii Bowling, knitting sessions, a variety of card games, and delightful monthly breakfast socials. Mark your calendars for the eagerly awaited Craft and Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Set alarm clocks for 8 a.m. sharp on Sept. 1 to sign up for preferred programs through a variety of convenient methods. In-person registration will be available at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 30 N. Water St. W. For those who prefer the traditional route, registration forms can be mailed in. Additionally, the department is excited to continue offering online registration, allowing participants to secure their spots from the comfort of their homes, starting at 8 a.m. on Sept. 1.

A link to the Fall/Winter guide will be available at starting Sept. 1 at 8 a.m. Registration also opens at that time. Print copies will be available at the Parks and Recreation office, 30 N. Water St., at the Fort Atkinson Senior Center, Dwight Foster Public Library, Hoard Historical Museum and the Chamber of Commerce.
