U.S. Highway 12 Construction update
The Department of Transportation began work May 1 on a road construction project on U.S. Highway 12 through the City of Fort Atkinson from Madison Ave. to County Highway M. The road will remain open during construction with flagging operations in place.
This week contractors began saw cutting and removing concrete from sidewalk ramps along Main Street and replacement of ramps.
The project will include the milling and overlay of U.S. Highway 12 along with the upgrade of 92 sidewalk ramps, curb and gutter replacement at the ramps and removal and replacement of sidewalk at the ramps.
The project is scheduled for completion by November.
